CELL PHONE BILL HACKS | How To Lower Your Bill

The average cell phone bill in the United States is now $80/month. If this is you, I have a few tips to help you potentially cut your cell phone bill in half. Save your money and put money toward your freedom fund instead. 🙂

Tip 1: Know your needs and average usage
Tip 2: Reduce your data consumption
Tip 3: Find which company offers the best cellular service and internet speeds in your area
Tip 4: Comparison shop for prepaid plans from an MNVO telecom company

I didn’t want to make the video too long. Here are my personal thoughts.

This won’t work for you if you rely on your phone for your job, but if that’s you, you are not most people. I work for a real estate firm and my bosses and all the real estate agents in our office rely on their phones for their livelihood. They are constantly making phone calls, checking and answering emails, sending photos to clients, putting up ads on social media, setting up appointments, tracking their mileage on their QuickBooks app, etc. Their lives are on-the-go. For them, they truly need unlimited data plans to make money and I suggest they write their cell phone bill off as a business tax deduction.

But again, those kinds of people are NOT most of us. A lot of us could use less screen time. In a connected world where people are feeling more disconnected, please put your phone away in public and be more present with the people who are around you by giving them your full attention. This is my philosophy. Just by doing this, I use minimal data, as I mainly play with my phone during downtime at work or home where I have access to Wi-Fi.

  1. If you have a low income consider getting a free government phone. If you’re in the U.S. search for Assurance Wireless. When I had it I had unlimited everything, all for free. You have to save that money where you can.

Nice list, Annie. Great to see you back with another video.

  2. I use a company phone so I am fortunate. I put a ton of money in my 401(k). My philosophy is that my income at the ‘job level’ is seed money and I push it down into another level- investments. I try to be more of an investor/ owner than a consumer (especially at the level of income). I try to always make money on the money I make.

  3. You’re so thorough and explained this perfectly! Thanks for the tips researching all this and I will definitely order your book for more tips. I always play a contest with myself to save more $ than the previous year. I want to retire way early 🙂

    1. Thanks so much for your support and for ordering my book. It means a lot to me because I don’t plan on taking sponsorships to sell bad financial advice and products (don’t want to lose my voice and authenticity).

  4. Great video! I prefer the $15 plan due to the amount of free wifi available. There is rarely a time when I need to use data and when I do it is just for a moment. But great information. Keep up the good work!
